Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Ashleigh Baney | Jr. Lions Preschool

BG Christian’s Staff Spotlight shines on Mrs. Ashleigh Baney, one of our devoted Jr. Lions Preschool teachers whose heart for early childhood education is rooted in faith, family, and community.

Mrs. Baney’s journey to BG Christian began as a parent. When her oldest daughter was preparing for preschool, her family discovered BG Christian and immediately connected with the school’s Christ-centered mission and caring teachers. “Now both of our children attend the school, and I am blessed to give to other students what was provided for my daughters,” she shares.

Her passion for teaching grew during her time as a stay-at-home mom, when she realized just how formative the early years are. God used that season to call her into partnering with parents to help lay a strong spiritual and educational foundation for their children. Mrs. Baney believes that identity begins forming early, noting, “We get to help students see who God says they are at such a young age and prepare them for the future.”

In her classroom, faith is woven into every part of the day—from learning letters to reading stories and exploring new adventures—always pointing students back to Jesus as their firm foundation. She also values community and striving to create a safe and a welcoming space where families can grow together.

One of her greatest joys is seeing former preschool students return for hugs or words of thanks. “Those moments remind us why a great preschool experience matters,” she says. Watching students grow from the first day of school to the end of the year continually inspires her work.

Outside the classroom, Mrs. Baney enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, gardening, playing with her Bernese Mountain Dog, Maizie, and decorating for Christmas well before October ends. We are grateful for how Mrs. Baney serves BG Christian and our little Lions.
