In this Staff Spotlight, we learn more about our Jr. Lions 5 Day lead teacher, Mrs. Mindy Radabaugh.
Mrs. Radabaugh, a loving and passionate preschool teacher at BG Christian since 2019, found herself drawn to the school's strong sense of community. "What drew me in was the community of believers and the staff," she remembers thinking about her first year. It was more than just a workplace; it was a network of support, united in a shared mission: to develop life-long disciples who know their unique identity and purpose in Christ.
But how does this lofty goal translate into the lives of energetic four-year-olds? Mrs. Radabaugh, equipped with a Bachelor's degree in education with a double major in Early Childhood Education (Prek-3rd) and Intervention Specialist (K-12) from Bluffton University, as well as a Masters in Early Childhood Intervention at Bowling Green State University, is perfectly suited to the task. She believes it's about nurturing a love for God and fostering self-confidence in her students. "I believe God has given me a passion for teaching kids His word and a love for families in our community," a sentiment echoed by many here at BG Christian. She hopes to show kids how much their Creator loves them and how to cultivate their own relationship with Him. “I hope to give them confidence in who they are in Christ, so they can be a light for others as they grow and live out their calling.”
BG Christian truly embodies the word "community." It's not just a place of learning; it's a place where faith is woven into the very fabric of a student’s day. "With our Christian staff and curriculum," Mrs. Radabaugh explains, "faith can be integrated into every subject." From songs and stories to celebrations and everyday interactions, it's a constant presence, shaping young minds and hearts.
One of the joys of teaching for Mrs. Radabaugh is witnessing those "aha!" moments. While she doesn't have one specific memory that stands out, she cherishes the collection of notes she keeps – little quotes and special moments scribbled down throughout the year. "It’s just a list of cute things they do and say," she adds with a smile. Looking back at these keepsakes is a heartwarming reminder of the impact that she was able to be a part of in these precious preschool years.
At the end of the day, what makes BG Christian so special for Mrs. Radabaugh? It's the students, the families, and the incredible people she works with. Her love for them spills over into her free time, which she spends with friends and family, and volunteering at church.
Fun fact about Mrs. Radabaugh - she used to teach in Findlay for four years before staying home with her two kids who are also BG Christian students. It's amazing how life's experiences shape our paths. Coming to BG Christian feels like coming home – a place where she can share her passion for teaching and faith with the next generation.
