BG Christian Senior Spotlight | Christian education | life-long discipleship

Since kindergarten, Isabella “Izzy” Ewuzie has been a constant and joyful presence in the halls of Bowling Green Christian Academy. Now, as she prepares to graduate, her journey reflects exactly what BG Christian strives for: partnering with families to develop life-long disciples who know their unique identity and purpose in Christ. And in Izzy’s case? She’s doing it all with a smile, servant’s heart, and maybe just a touch of play-dough under her fingernails.
Over the years, Izzy has left her mark in just about every corner of campus—whether she was racing across cross country trails, scoring on the basketball court, serving on Student Council, or leading with excellence in National Honor Society and GEMS. Oh, and let’s not forget Bowling Club—because even future neuroscientists deserve to knock down a few pins with friends.
When Izzy reflects on what shaped her experience most, it’s clear that meaningful relationships have been at the heart of it all. Teachers like Mrs. Kane, her kind and wise fith-grade guide, taught not just lessons but life skills. Mr. Williams brought Bible class to life with his chill demeanor and thoughtful discussions, while Ms. Huidobro made junior year English class both fun and memorable (no small feat). Add in Mrs. Magrum’s understanding support in math and Mrs. Sitter’s clear and effective Spanish lessons, and you have a tapestry of mentorship that exemplifies what Christ-centered education is all about.
“I’m most proud of the grades I’ve earned,” Izzy shares. And it’s easy to see why—balancing a full slate of activities while excelling academically is no small accomplishment. Yet, when she talks about her favorite school memories, it’s the simple, joy-filled moments that rise to the top: working at Rise and Shine Academy and sharing study hall laughs (and play-dough creations) with her friend Addie. These are the snapshots of community that linger longest.
As she looks ahead, Izzy will be taking her love of learning to Bowling Green State University, where she plans to major in neuroscience. “I’ve always liked brain science,” she says with her signature curiosity and enthusiasm. Whether it’s mapping neural pathways or building new ones through relationships, Izzy is ready to make a difference.
When asked what she prays never changes at BG Christian, her answer is simple: “Keep hiring good teachers.” Wise words from someone who knows firsthand the power of Christ-centered mentors. As our mission continues—to partner with Christian families to develop life-long disciples who know their unique identity and purpose in Christ—we’re grateful for students like Izzy who remind us why we do what we do.
Izzy’s story is one of faith, friendship, and a future as bright as her smile. And we can’t wait to see how God uses her next.
