From kindergarten to cap and gown, Addison McGlaughlin (or as her friends and teachers fondly call her, Addy) has been a familiar and joyful presence in the halls of BG Christian. Over the years, Addy has not only grown academically but has also cultivated deep roots in her faith and her community—living proof of how BG Christian partners with families to raise life-long disciples who know their unique identity and purpose in Christ.

Addy’s journey spans the full sweep of a BG Christian education, beginning in kindergarten and blossoming into a vibrant senior year. Throughout that time, she stayed on the move—literally—as a dedicated member of the cross country team and as a leader in Student Council. Whether running races or planning events, Addy carried a spirit of determination and kindness that left its mark on classmates and teachers alike.

Speaking of teachers, Addy’s reflections make it clear that BG Christian’s faculty shaped more than just her report card. Mr. Williams, her Bible teacher, made an impression as the “chill guy” who fostered a relaxed but meaningful environment to grow spiritually. Mr. Murphy, known for sparking deep conversations and setting a high bar, pushed Addy and her classmates to think critically and strive for excellence. And who could forget Mrs. Kane, whose warm heart and sweet spirit encouraged hard work with well-earned rewards? These relationships are exactly what make a Christ-centered education more than academics—it’s discipleship in action.

When asked about her proudest accomplishment, Addy doesn’t hesitate to point to her consistent academic success. Maintaining strong grades year after year—especially while balancing life and leadership—is no small feat. It’s a testament to her perseverance and the spiritual and academic foundation she’s built at BG Christian.

As she looks to the future, Addy is clear-eyed and entrepreneurial. This fall, she’ll attend Bowling Green State University, pursuing a degree in business with the dream of one day owning her own company. Thanks to her hard work, she’s already been offered the UFAS Scholarship and the Governor's Merit Scholarship, totaling approximately $13,000—a fantastic head start on her journey.

When asked what she hopes never changes about BG Christian, her answer is refreshingly practical: “Please don’t go back to the old dress code—I like wearing jeans.” (We hear you, Addy. Comfort and style for the win.) And as for her suggestion to make BG Christian even better? A swimming pool. Because, let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to trade study hall for a few laps every now and then?

As Addy prepares to step into the next chapter of her life, we celebrate not just her achievements but the confident, Christ-centered young woman she has become. Her journey is a reminder of the power of a Christian education rooted in both academic rigor and spiritual growth. We know God will continue to use her gifts and leadership wherever she goes—and maybe one day, she’ll be the CEO of a company that finally builds us that swimming pool.
