To help qualifying families, we have listed a few opportunities that provide financial assistance. Please see the descriptions and links below:
Northwest Ohio Scholarship Fund:
This privately funded opportunity provides need-based scholarships to families throughout Lucas, Wood and Fulton counties. The funds purpose: growing minds and creating futures for young people with tuition assistance that enables them to attend an independent K-8 school of their choice. Scholarships are 100% need-based with up to $1500 available, and are awarded by lottery system.
Each year, NOSF provides hundreds of thousands of dollars in tuition assistance, with an average scholarship award of nearly $1,000. If you believe that your family is eligible, and you are ready to make at least a commitment of $500 toward tuition costs, we encourage you to begin the application process today. Partial scholarships are also available. All applications for the 2019-2020 school year are due by Friday April 26th, 2019. NOTE: You do not need to apply through FACTS for this scholarship.

The Educational Choice Scholarship (EdChoice) program was created to provide students from underperforming public schools the opportunity to attend participating private schools. The program provides up to 60,000 EdChoice scholarships to eligible students. If your student is entering K-5th grade in the fall of 2019, and would attend Kenwood Elementary, your family is eligible for this Scholarship for the 2019-2020 school year. EdChoice also offers an “Expansion Scholarship” that, for the 2019-2020 school year, will be available to incoming Kindergarten through 6th grade students whose family income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Applications will start to be accepted on February 1st, 2019, are submitted to the Administration Office, and are due to the school on or before Friday April 26th, 2019. Interested families must have “Enrolled” status with the school which includes a completed application with supporting documents and application fee on file with the school office. Entrance testing is also required. Current families must be re-enrolled for the 2019-2020 school year before a renewal application can be submitted. Linette Butler Scholarship:
Linette Butler was a BG Christian Academy student who passed away from cancer in 2002 during her seventh grade year. Family and friends wishing to honor her memory contributed money towards the goal of providing scholarships given in her name. The scholarship was established by Tim and Deb Butler on May 8, 2003 and specifically designed for current students who have exhibited a love and aptitude for science or math. Currently, it is our only academic-based scholarship.
Two $300 scholarships will be awarded for each school year. One will be awarded for science and the other for math. Students are also selected based on Christian character and teacher recommendations. These scholarships are offered specifically for students entering grades 6- 12 and who have a passion and ability in these two subject matters. Application deadline is March 29th, 2019. Interested families must have “Accepted” status with the school which includes a completed application with supporting documents and application fee on file with the school office. BG Christian Scholarships:
Every year, generous donors pledge funds to support students and families of BG Christian Academy. These funds are distributed through an application process on a first come – first serve basis to qualifying families. This school year’s application period will start Saturday February 2nd, 2019 and due by Friday March 29th, 2019 with applications submitted online through the FACTS website. Current families must be enrolled for the 2019-2020 school year to be eligible. New families must have “Accepted” status with the school which includes a completed admissions application with supporting documents and application fee submitted to the school office (applications are available under the Admissions tab at the top of the page). New Families for the 2019-2020 school year may apply after the deadline once they are accepted and if funds are still available.
STEPS TO APPLY:
- Visit the FACTS Website to start the process. (You will need your family account information)
- Fill out and submit your online application: a NONREFUNDABLE fee of $35 is required before your application will be processed.
- Submit all required documents by uploading them online through FACTS or faxing them to 866-315-9264 (Customer Care Representatives are available to assist you by calling 866-441-4637)
- You are able to login to FACTS to check the status of your application at anytime. Processing time may very. Families will be notified by the school of scholarships awarded by the end of May.
