My Take on Choir

By Macey Thomas

Just in case you didn’t know, we do have a choir at our school. It is very fun! Choir is open to all students in grades 6 through 12. In previous years Mrs. Dally directed the choir, but this year Mrs. Hudson is the choir director. Choir class is held during 7th period on Tuesdays and Thursdays and meets in room 133/135.

We have at least two Choir concerts every year. The first concert is in the winter and the second concert is held in the spring. Sometimes the choir gets to sing the Star Spangled Banner at a BGSU basketball game or at Senior Nights for BG Christian volleyball and basketball games. They have also gone to music festivals in past years. This year, the Christmas concert will be on Thursday, December 17th at the Lower Campus. It will begin at 7:00 p.m. The choir concert will be a combined show with the Middle School Band, Fifth Grade Band, and the Academy Singers.

Here are some quotes from people in choir: “I like it because I get to sing in school,” said Michaela Boston (7th grade). Sixth graders Ellie Slater and Chloe Morrison both agreed with Michaela, saying that they like to sing in school. Senior Kirah Morrison adds, “I’ve always enjoyed singing and it’s even better when I get to sing at school. It’s a class that I really look forward to. I miss Mrs. Dally, but I’ve really enjoyed learning from Mrs. Hudson. It’s nice to have a bit of change every now and then. I’m really looking forward to our concerts, as this year will be my last time performing as a BG Christian student. I’ll really miss it after graduation!”
