What We’re Thankful For (Pt.2)…

Here is Part 2 of “What We”re Thankful For” from our Upper Campus students on what they are thankful for this Thanksgiving season.  To quote our Principal Mrs. Wendie Cuckler “This is why we do what we do.”

I am very prone to complaining about how hard my life is. I’ll complain about the amount of homework I have or that the house ran out of ice cream. This is ridiculous. I am so blessed in my life. I am so thankful that I live in a country that I can worship my God freely and speak out on what I believe. I can say I have a bed to sleep in, and I have a roof over my head, unlike a majority of the world. I am thankful for my family and friends who are there for me, always. I have so much to be thankful for and nothing to complain about.

Although my life has been far from easy, God has given me lots of things to be thankful for. I have a mom and a sister who love me more than I deserve. I have a dog who never shares my secrets. Best of all, I have a school full of good Christian friends and teachers who are always here for me when I need them. So even though I don’t have the perfect family or perfect life, God has blessed me abundantly in what I do have. – Olivia C. 9th grade

I am very thankful for all the blessings God has given me. My family is very supportive on what I want to do in life. I have many friends that support me, and I enjoy being around them. I am also thankful for the fact that I am able to go to such a great school with many of my friends. I am very thankful for my pastimes and activities to entertain myself. I have truly been blessed! – Aaron Z. 10th grade

I am thankful for a lot of things. I am most thankful for my family because they have helped me through a lot. When I had to go live with someone else, my family members were the first people to help me. I am also thankful for my friends. I am thankful for them because they’ve always had my back and been there for me. I am most thankful for my grandma and grandpa. They have helped me through a lot and made me realize things that I wouldn’t have realized without them. I am also very thankful for my Aunt Amanda and my Uncle Matt. I have lived with them for the last two months, and they have looked out for me and taken care of me.  These are the main things I am thankful for in my life. – Josh R. 10th grade

I am thankful for many things in my life. One of the biggest aspects in my life I’m thankful for is God. We all go through hardships in life, and for me He is someone I can turn to no matter what. I’m also thankful for my family. My family is always there to support me in every way possible. I sometimes forget how lucky I am to have the family I do. My family is also something I can always turn to whether I’m having a bad day, or I just need a hug. Lastly, I’m thankful for my amazing friends, who I also consider as family. I’m very blessed to live in the community I do. The friends I have now are so supportive, and I could never ask for anything more.

These are some of the things I am thankful for. I am thankful for my family and friends because they give me love and kindness. They have always been there for me, even when I hit rock bottom. I am thankful for shelter, clothes, and food. Of course, we should all be thankful for the essentials. I’m also thankful for everything around me. Life (people, animals, plants, etc.) would not exist without our surroundings. But what I am most thankful for is God, my Creator. He has given me everything I need. He gave me life, food, family, love, and many other blessings. I am thankful for a lot, but these are some of the most important things in my life. – Rachel K. 12th grade
